Etodolac is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in the Etova tablet. This drug belongs to a group of medications known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID). Etodolac is used to relieve pain from various conditions; it relieves painful conditions of the bone, joints and soft tissues, such as inflammatory arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis and advanced osteoarthritis.
This drug consists of Etodolac. Etodolac exerts a lasting analgesic and an anti-inflammatory effect as it decreases the production of pain, stimulating chemicals that are prostaglandins by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX).
Do not take Etova 400 mg if you have issues like diabetes, a habit of smoking, liver or kidney6 disease, heart problems (including blood pressure issues), history of stomach ulcer or bleeding, low level of calcium in the blood, asthma, or history of a blood clot.
Common drug interactions:
You must inform your doctor about your medical history and the list of all medications you may be using, especially those: cyclosporine, diuretics, prednisone, lithium, methotrexate, warfarin, citalopram, fluoxetine, Zoloft. Etodolac may rarely cause serious side effects such as bloody urine, pale skin, runny nose, dizziness, lack of energy, difficulty urination, ringing in the ears, and loss of appetite, Sore throat, mild sore throat, headache, fast heartbeat.
The dosage depends on age, weight, medical condition, and response to the treatment. Your doctor will decide on the correct dose. Take the dose exactly as prescribed by him. Never take two tablets at one time to double the dose. The drug is to be taken with or without the food as directed by your doctor. The tablet is to be swallowed with a glass of water. Do not break or crush the tablet
You should take the dose until you finish the prescription. Do not stop or change the dose even if you feel better. You should complete the prescribed dose.
Do not take the drug if you are:
— Hypersensitive to this active ingredient Etodolacor any other ingredient of the medicine
— Using this medication just before or after heart bypass surgery
— Pregnant or planning to be pregnant
— A breastfeeding mother
