Flixonase nasal spray 50 mcg containing Fluticasone propionate is a prescription medicine for the management of nasal symptoms such as sneezing, stuffy nose, runny nose, nasal itching, and sneezing in adults and children aged four years and older. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not established in children younger than four years of age. The aqueous suspension contains the active ingredient Fluticasone propionate belongs to a group of medicines known as steroids, which works by reducing inflammation, swelling and irritation associated with the medication. This helps to relieve nasal symptoms including itching, sneezing, and runny or blocked nose. Flixonase is effective against both seasonal and perennial allergies. When you spray into your nose, the active component Fluticasone is released and absorbed into the cells of the nasal lining. It stops the production of certain chemicals that trigger allergic and inflammatory reactions. The tiny amount of medication sprayed into your nose helps relieves nasal symptoms.
Do not use Flixonase nasal spray if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any other ingredients of this medicine. Talk to your health care specialist before using this medication if you have ever had an operation of your nose or have an infection in your nose. Please tell your health care specialist if you are taking.
Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individuals in different ways. Some side effects are known to be associated with Flixonase nasal sprays. However, not all will experience side effects. Nosebleed is commonly reported with the use of Seroflo inhaler 25 mcg+250mcg. Other common side effects include headache, dryness, unpleasant smell, and irritation of the nose. Very rare but severe side effects of Fluticasone propionate is perforation of the nasal septum, cataracts, raised the pressure in the eye, or glaucoma. Call your health care specialist if you notice any changes in your vision while using the nasal spray. An allergic reaction such as hives, itching, rash, or swelling of the tongue or face. Discontinue the drug and get immediate medical advice if you are allergic to it.
Always use Flixonase nasal spray exactly as your health care specialist has told you. Please check with your health care provider if you are not sure how to use the medicine. Use the medication in your nose only, avoid contact with eyes and mouth. It takes a few days for Fluticasone to work. So, keep on using it without missing dose, even though you are feeling better. For adults and children over, the usual starting dose is two sprays into each nostril once daily, preferably in the morning. Do not use more than four sprays (each nostril) a day. As your symptoms improve, your health care provider may prescribe a lower, which you need to spray in each nostril once a day. If your symptoms get even after using the medicine, please talk to your health care provider. For children aged 4 to 11 years of age, the usual starting dose is one spray to each nostril once daily. Do not administer more than four sprays (each nostril) a day.
