Rpigat 2.5 mg is used in the treatment and prevention of blood clots. Rpigat is a type of medicine known as anticoagulant (blood thinners). Although it does not dissolve blood clots, it is prescribed to prevent them from getting larger so your body can dissolve them over time. It also helps to prevent the formation of new blood clots. Rpigat contains the active ingredient Rivaroxaban, which works by blocking the substance in the body that is involved in blood clotting. This allows the blood to flow freely around your body and reduces the likeliness of developing a clot inside the blood vessel.
Rpigat tablet can help prevent or reduce damage caused by stroke or clots in your lungs or blood vessels. It can also make it less likely that part of a clot will break off and travel to other body parts. You should take it regularly as prescribed and make the required lifestyle changes
Rpigat is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease. Dose adjustment may be required. The use of Rivaroxaban is not suggested for patients with severe kidney disease. Do not stop treatment or change your dosing regimen without your doctor’s guidance. It may increase the risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or formation of blood clots within blood vessels.
The common side effects of this medicine do not require any medical attention and resolve as your body adjusts to this medicine. Inform your healthcare professional if they persist or if you are concerned about them. Commonly reported side effects of the medicine include nausea, bruise, anaemia, nosebleeds, blood in urine, and hematoma.
Take Rpigat in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass full of water. Swallow the pill; do not chew, crush, or break it. The medicine may be taken before or after consuming food. It is always best to take the medicine at a fixed time. You should take Rpigat 2.5 mg regularly and make the required lifestyle changes to help this medicine be effective.
Do not have grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking Rpigat. The reason is that grapefruit contains compounds that slow down the metabolism of Rpigat and increase the activity that leads to bleeding. Also, if you are taking other blood thinners like warfarin, you should not take any food that enhances the activity of vitamin K or increases blood clotting. Such food items may include brussels, mustard greens, asparagus, green tea, spinach, and broccoli. However, these food items are not restricted to Rpigat 2.5 mg. Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Rivaroxaban tablets.
